The technical complexity of algorithmic science, the dynamics of scaling, and the relative immaturity of sciences that study intelligence are some examples of current challenges to developing artificial intelligence (AI).

The goal of the Algorithmic Innovation and Entrepreneurship’s Summer Summit in London is to bring together the leading researchers that study natural and artificial intelligence to make sense of the current landscape in AI research. They’ll aim to identify fundamental challenges and promising directions in the field.

Organized by Diverse Intelligences Summer Institute (DIDI) alumni Ruairidh Battleday of Thinking About Thinking, this quarter's summit asks: What are the Fundamental Challenges for Developing AI? This question will be explored from the perspectives of five big technical stakeholder groups: academia, tech companies, focused research organizations and non-profits, start-ups, and venture capitalists and funders. Keynotes include Professor Karl Friston UCL; Verses.ai; Dr Mounia Lalmas, Spotify; and Danny Gray, Just Ask A Question. Stakeholders include Harvard, Oxford, Meta, Microsoft, DeepMind, Templeton World Charity Foundation, and more.
