Institution International Society for the Study of Behavioral Development

Led by Tina Malti, at the International Society for the Study of Behavioral Development (ISSBD), the CARE EVERYWHERE (Understanding and Nourishing the Development of Character Strengths Globally) program supports research conducted by ISSBD members aiming to learn more about and help people cultivate character strengths across the human lifespan.

This funding will allow two teams of early or mid-career scholars affiliated with the ISSBD to be awarded with $32,000 USD to pursue work on character development research that contributes to a better understanding of what is common and what is specific in the act of caring across the world. This work would then be presented at the 2026 ISSBD meeting in South Korea.

The project hopes to increase and optimize research capacity to conduct developmentally and culturally sensitive research by including scholars from around the world, and thus also contributes to equity, diversity, and inclusivity in the global scientific community.
