Character development is central to individual and societal wellbeing. Through this project, the PACE Foundation seeks to spark a national dialogue about character development and help implement character education programs in The Bahamas.
The PACE Foundation annually hosts Character Day Bahamas. Founded by Let it Ripple, Character Day is an annual global initiative that brings together millions of people of all ages in diverse contexts to engage conversations about character. PACE adapts the Character Day themes and activities to make them relevant for a Bahamanian audience. PACE will continue to facilitate Character Day events in The Bahamas and promote it through a targeted outreach campaign.
With a goal of transforming society, PACE seeks to enhance the knowledge, skills, and practices related to character education. Building on the previous successes of their programs, this project will expand their workshop series, distribute resources, and administer small grants. It will also strengthen character education at the PACE School, which helps teen mothers earn their high school diploma.
Ultimately, PACE hopes these activities will help individuals, families, schools, youth organizations, and businesses improve decision making skills and strengthen society.
