The Organization 

Templeton World Charity Foundation, Inc. TWCF, is a global nonprofit foundation created by Sir John Templeton in 1996 to provide support for scientific breakthroughs and practical tools relating to the search for meaning, purpose, and truth. Through sharing these spiritual discoveries, we seek to impact individual lives across the world. The current grant portfolio of the Foundation comprises over 200 projects in more than 40 countries. The Foundation’s offices are located in Nassau, The Bahamas.

Purpose & Scope 

The Foundation’s Internship Program offers current students and recent graduates opportunities to obtain meaningful work experiences for 6-8 weeks on a full time basis. Interns must be Bahamian citizens, currently residing in The Bahamas. The internship program aims to build a pipeline of talent as part of TWCF’s continued efforts to diversify our workforce. The interns must be willing to work alongside The Foundation’s staff, learning about aspects of Sir John’s philanthropic vision, supporting the communications and launch department, along with learning the process for grant making and foundation operations. 

Areas of Exposure

• Digital file organization
  • General google drive and grantee spotlight content 
• TWCF website content upload and tagging 
• Reorganization of spreadsheets
• Meltwater insights organization, supporting the amplification pipeline
• Social media listening 
• Content creation and editorial input to TWCF’s digital products (eg. newsletter, social media calendar) 

Selection Criteria

• Bahamians currently residing in The Bahamas
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program or graduated within the past two years
  • Communications, Marketing, Journalism and/or English/writing concentrations preferred
  • Exposure to Science, or Science Communication is a plus 
• Well-developed time & project management skills with proven ability to work independently or with minimal supervision to achieve goals and deadlines
• Adept in social media management, content creation and project management 
• Strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated competence with Microsoft Office Suite, as well Google Workspace and previous experience with web-based Content Management Systems
• Have no immediate relatives (e.g., mother, father, sister, brother) working with TWCF, or any other relatives in your reporting line of authority.

At The Foundation's discretion, the successful candidate may receive an honorarium upon internship’s completion.
